The Months

The Months is a collection of 12 songs, one for each month of the year. Each movement presents a different combination of SATB soloists along with piano accompaniment. This work aims to explore the multitude of different textures and atmospheres that can be created with this instrumentation, along with the various emotions and moods associated with the different months of the year. The months have purposefully been placed out of order to create an overarching emotional journey, largely guided by the poetry.
